Fenerbahçe Ülker beat gutsy Erdemirspor 101-93 on the road in a thrilling Men’s Beko Turkish Basketball League (TBL) encounter at the Erdemir Sports Hall on Saturday.

Fenerbahçe Ülker led 21-16 in the first quarter, but Erdemirspor fought back in the second to take a slim 39-38 lead. Fener upped the tempo in the third for a 61-56 lead, and the game was tied 80-80 at regulation time.

Fenerbahçe Ülker outplayed, outclassed and outscored in overtime to win the game 101-93. Erdemirspor’s New York-born Leon Williams was the overall top scorer with 30 points, while Emir Preldzic, a Slovenian of Bosnian origin, topped the Fenerbahçe Ülker scoresheet with 20 points.

Other TBL results were as follows: Bornova Belediyesi 75, Tofaş 74; Beşiktaş Cola Turka 88, Antalya Büyükşehir Belediyesi 64; Türk Telekomspor 90, Mersin Büyükşehir Belediyesi 78 and OYAK Renault 87, Pınar Karşıyaka 85.

In the Women’s Turkish Basketball League (TBBL) it was: Galatasaray 70, Botaş Spor 59 and Samsun Basketbol Kulübü 51, Tarsus Belediyesi 43.
