Speaking during a visit to the Federation for Aegean and Western Mediterranean Industrialists and Businessmen’s Associations (ESİDEF) along with Noyan Gürel, South Korea’s consular agent in İzmir, on Friday, Bae stated that even though South Korean investors operate in every sector in İstanbul, their presence is almost nonexistent in İzmir. “As bureaucrats of the two countries are holding talks about negotiating the terms of a possible trade agreement, it is time to boost cooperation further. I see it as my duty to encourage Korean businessmen to invest in İzmir,” he said.

In order to boost cooperation, the two cultures should become more familiar with each other, the ambassador stated, adding that in this regard a Korea Day will be organized for the last week of March next year in İstanbul. Korea Day will host the CEOs of the largest companies in South Korea and will give Turkish and Korean businessmen the chance to hold business talks, he added.
